Then those who feared and loved the Lord spoke often of him to each other. And He had a Book of Remembrance drawn up in which he recorded the names of those who feared him and loved to think about Him (Malachi 3:16 TLB).
Several years ago, I met a friend from Bible Study at the post office one day. We began to talk about the Lord and some of the wonderful ways He was working in our lives.
After a few minutes, a man neither of us knew approached us. He said, “I’m Pastor Joe and I couldn’t help overhearing your conversation. I just wanted to tell you, I love it when I hear people talking about Jesus in the post office!”
Today as I read Malachi 3:16, I remembered that incident. It made me realize that just as Pastor Joe overheard my friend and me as we talked about the Lord in the post office, the Lord also hears us. In addition, we’re told that God has created a special book just to record the names of those who love to think and talk about Him. What a wonderful opportunity to bring joy to the heart of our God!
Lord Jesus, help us to allow our love for you to spill over into our conversation every day, regardless of where we may be. Amen.
